Pharmacology Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Published

I'm in my first semester of nursing school and the only thing I'm having trouble with is my pharmacology class. The thing is our teacher is a pharmacist. And he's teaching the class like we're going into the same profession. I know this will help me in the long run but I don't want to mess up!!!!!! If anyone knows about helpful websites or has some helpful information about this I would be very appreciative!

I don't know what book you are using at your school, but we are using "Davis's Drug Guide for Nurses, 9th Edition" (ISBN 0-8036-1152-8)... I really like it because it tells you everything including the nursing implications. Their website is http://www.drugguide.com. I also use this other website often:

Hope this helps some!

If you are having trouble go talk to your teacher. Ask him for help/suggestions

this will help you & he will know you are interested & really trying. He could lead you in the direction that would make things a lot clearer & easier for you. Good Luck.

I feel your pain. I hate instructors like that.

Here's a great book that helped me out in my pharm class.

"Straight A's In Nursing Pharmacology: A Review Series"

The publisher is Lippincott Williams & Wilkins.

It's a great supplement in addition to your textbook, It reviews all key and major points and defines the different drug classes and key nursing interventions, etc..... I got it from Barnes & Noble. Hope i helped some :)

Here's the problem with this......we already tried to talk to him. Just to have him slow down a bit. He attempted that but then said he didn't think he could get any simpler than that. And if it was just me, I'd feel out of place, but it's the WHOLE class. When I got to lab today, some of my classmates had talked to our fundamentals teacher about this and he took it up with the head of the nursing program. She said she's going to sit in on class next time. I hate to have him put on the spot......but I'd hate to fail the class also. Thanks for the advice.
