At my college, after you get accepted into the RN program, they rush you through the pharmacology class. In 8 weeks!
Just took my final today. Crazy hard class to do so fast. 10 glorious days off and then onto fundamentals.

Any tips for pharm? I might be taking it next semester, depending on how things go. It's complicated. But I'm super nervous about this class!

I just finished the first half of Pharm and memorizing the commonalities of drugs is helpful, like ACE inhibitors ending with "pril." Seems like a very basic tip but it really is a lifesaver when you're studying 50 different drugs across categories for each test. There is a mnemonic flash card set I got on Amazon (Mosbys Pharmacology Memory Notecards) which has good silly pics to grasp relationships and is easy to carry around. And focus on the "unique properties" of each drug as I am told NCLEX really focuses on that...things like weird side effects or bad interactions. Making a weird image in my mind helps with these like associating banana with digoxin because low potassium can be deadly with that drug. Hope that helps! Apologies for any grammar issues as my iPhone is being a little stubborn :)
And best tip I forgot to add...don't stress out about it! Pharm is a really interesting class and chances are you know a person in your life on at least one drug you study, and can take the opportunity to educate! Or relate it to marketing ads...pharm is all around us, and the more connections we can make the happier our brain is come test time
