Pharm help. Abrams Clinical Drug Therapy.

Published

Does your school other nursing assign Abrams as the class text? If so how do you study this book. I received a 70 on the first exam... Class average of about 55-60. I received an 83 on the second exam... Class average of 75.

Tips?

Currently I'm studying:

Cardio drugs

Diuretics

Anti HTN drugs.

Drugs like: Dig, Lasix, Adenosine.. & So on...

Ah cardio drugs..such a fun group. Try Mosby's Pharmacology Memory Notecards. Our book was Adams and Urban, so I do not know how to study your book. Learn inotropic, dromotropic, chronotropic. Make sample drug classification cards for ones you find hard to remember and list stuff like the method of action, uses, generic and trade names, specific info for certain brands, dosage range, what indicates if the drug is effective, common side effects, adverse and life-threatening side effects, contraindications, food and drug and herbal interactions, assessments to be made prior to administration and to follow-up, important labs, patient education needed, and any addition information. Sorry I know it seems like a lot, but it helped me and my classmates survive pharm

Attached are 12 Word documents which I made when I took pharmacology. All the information was based on the ATI study guide since that constituted the final exam in our class.

They are formatted as 3x5 cards and were printed on individual 3x5 cards.

Again, they are entirely my own creation based on the information out of the ATI book. I make no promises as to their accuracy (though I rocked pharm so they couldn't be too bad).

Feedback is welcome.
