Anyone applying to PGCC nursing program for spring 2012 start? :nurse:

I am! Im retaking two courses this summer online. Im taking my Anatomy I and Interpersonal communications online this summer. I plan on finishing up my prereqs this fall and petition at the end of NUR 1010. I am praying that I make it into the program.

I'm sure you'll do just fine! I currently go to AACC but am transfering to PG in the fall. I plan on taking A&P 2 - micro and nursing 1010. So excited to petition for the program BUT nervous at the same time. Glad someone else is applying for spring start too =]

I applied to PGCC for the Fall '11 semester. They were supposed to send out the accepted/ rejection letters the first week in June. I still haven't received mine though. It's driving me crazy!

hello!

I am also waiting for the letter. I called the college and they told me that they will send it out "sometimes in June."

I am wondering what is minimum GPA for acceptance? Does anybody know?

Just curious what the GPA cut off is for PG's nursing program? I'm getting so anxious for the Nur1010 start in Aug!

msdananicole, I go to PGCC now, and I am completing the last of my prerequisites so that I can petition in the spring. But please, let me tell you. The staff at PGCC will definitely URGE you to NOT take A&P II, Micro, and Nursing 1010 altogether. I recommend you take Micro when you are accepted into the Nursing program as PGCC allows you to take it with your first official nursing class NUR1020. Micro and A&P II are difficult as it is, and PG looks down on anything below a B for the nursing program. They want you to maintain a 2.5 GPA HOWEVER, the program at PGCC is soooo competitive only 50 students are chosen at a time. Micro, and A&P I and II, and NUR1010 are VERY important classes to petition for the program. If you get anything under a B in any of those classes they won't accept you into the program. I currently have a 3.52 GPA overall and have gotten all A's and B's in all of my classes EXCEPT Finite Mathematics, where I got a C because it was my last Math and I hate math so I slacked off. Even with that one C, they are like.."That C in Finite doesn't look good." So I might have to take it again if they don't accept me in the Spring which I pray they do. If you have anymore questions just let me know. One of my teachers is one of the head of the Nursing Program so she gave me a lot of insight. GOODLUCK!!!

HopesNDreemz! Finally someone replys to my post, so exciting! I currently attend AACC and I'm taking A&P 2, Chemistry, and just a general course I may need for my BSN in the long run. I will also be taking nursing 1010 at PGCC starting in a few weeks. I know it'll be class overload, but I'm sitting pretty decent with my GPA right now. I'm so excited to start and petition for Spring 2012! What Nur1010 class are you attending? Thanks for all the advice, and plans are to take Micro with my 1st semester of nursing school, if accepted. GOOD LUCK to you as well!

I will be taking the Nursing 1010 class that is on tuesdays from 4pm-6pm. My schedule is a little weird because I work full time, but I put the classes in my schedule where I can.

I'm super nervous to find out if I got accepted due to the fact that I'm out of county.:uhoh21: Does anyone know what GPA you need over to be 98% sure you got in? Previous students, anyone? Thanks!

Hi All! I got accepted to the nursing program and am looking for a few books to purchase. I figured some individuals on here may have some I need for nursing 1020. If anyone does please send me a message! Thanks a bunch.

Hi. I wanted to know was it difficult taking Anatomy I online? Would you recommend it or is it better to take it at the campus? My work schedule is pretty hectic so I'm trying to take as many pre-reqs online as possible.

It would be so helpful to hear from someone (anyone) who has gone through the process already at PGCC.

Thanks!
