Perpetual Help College of Nursing graduate from the Philippines - taking CA NCLEX

World Registration

Published

Hello,

I graduated nursing in the philippines in 2009 and migrated here in US in 2010, i took the board exam in the philippines 2x with no success. Now, i've decided i want to try and take the NCLEX here in Cali but I don't know how to start the application cause i went to 2 different schools, the first one is for the general education (first 2 years) and then transferred to a nursing school (last years).

My question is, do i need to send the request for transcript for the 2 schools that i've attended to or just the last school where i had my Bachelor's degree?

hope somebody can help me. Looking forward for some answers.

Thank you,

California requires official transcripts from each school attended even if it was a single class

Have you read the plight and frustrations of the many nurses trying to apply into CA all posting here of being denied the ATT due to one or two issues from not providing concurrent courses to missing courses (from 2 to 4) to lack of minimum clinical hours.

While it's not impossible but much more difficult than ever before.

While one can re-take the missing courses or deficient ones by enrolling in an approved school or college that offers them as long as you know there are literally 1,000's upon 1,000's also trying to grab into one of those slots as it affects other applicants from the globe. So not only are their very limited openings but can come at some pricey tuitions.

The majority of the applicants are now going to TX and NY as the trend now puts those two states as the "easiest, quickest and cheapest" state to get licensed. But also recognize that means you plan to work and practice in those two states (assumes you have a valid working SSN or proper work permits or documentation) and NOT planning to endorse those out of state license into CA as you'll still have to meet the same requirements that rejected the CA application in the first place.
