Villanova - PLEASE ANSWER

U.S.A. Pennsylvania

I really want to go to Villanova for nursing - I would be a transfer student and will apply to their alternate curriculum program. My only dilemma is that I can only afford it if I have an ROTC scholarship (which I know I am eligible for) but in order to actually get the scholarship I have to pass a physical and medical examination which requires me to set that all up well in advance to actually applying to Villanova (the application deadline is March 1st but I would have to start setting up the ROTC stuff now) so I really need to know if I have a chance of getting into Villanova - does anyone know how their admission process works? Do they only look at GPA? What would a competitive or acceptible GPA be?? What other things do they look for in an applicant?

If anyone knows anything about Villanova (even if it is just something you heard from someone) please let me know. Any help is appreciated :nuke:

I finally got my financial aid, and I'm pretty sure I'm going! Has anyone else decided yet?!

I'm going! :) I wish my FA app was completed so I know how much I'll be awarded. Do you know how they determine how much? I have never filled out a CSS profile app before and only FAFSA in the past...

Do you know when orientation is and do you plan to live off- or on-campus?

I'm not really sure on the financial aid stuff, but I know it's all need-based. I'm not sure when orientation is. And I'd like to live on campus if possible just to get to know more people, but the woman I talked to at res life didn't sound too promising. How about you?

I'd like to live off-campus but with fellow Villanova students in the program if possible.. :)

I'm sure that is what I will end up doing since housing down there is somewhat limited and I don't want to be on a waiting list for on-campus until July and then get stuck with nothing! Are you from the Philly area? and are you an undergrad transfer or a second degree student?

Sorry for the lag in response! I got busy with finals :p I'm a 2nd degree student coming from Los Angeles, CA. I'm trying to look at off-campus housing and I don't even know where to begin! I'm about to make plans to fly out there because I'd hate to get stuck somewhere I was unhappy with for an entire year...are you still gonna try for on-campus housing?

Hey everyone. I just got into the alternate sequence program for this upcoming fall. I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the program or their experience. I am a little nervous coming from NY and not knowing what to expect especially with that high of a tuition. THANK YOU!!!!

Danielle, I was wondering if you would be willing to share your GPA. I'm interested in the program, but I am unsure if I should even apply without having at least a 3.6 or 3.7

I have a 3.3 GPA...I think you'll be ok

Thanks, I'm around there and you just gave me a real surge in confidence!
