  1. Hey my name is Danielle and I am trying to get some advise on travel nursing as an ER nurse. I have been working at a busy city ER for the past 2 years and have decided to try the travel nursing world. I have reached out to several agencies like Flexcare and Travel nurse across America. I am not sure if I am picking the wrong states but I currently make 42/hr and the most I was quoted was 30/hr for Oakland/San Jose/Richmond California even with the stipend i don't see how this is profitable....Do travel nurses make money to save up or is it just living for the experience? Also i currently work for a cardiac/stroke center would trying for a level 1 trauma center in a new state be too much? Thoughts, comments, or suggestions would be SUPER SUPER appreciated? Thank you !!!
  2. I have the same dilemma as you right now minus the family.I would love to do travel nursing before i find my forever nurse job and go back for my masters degree. I make 42/hr working in a busy city ER and 51/hr working per diem at another hospital. I would love to know where people are getting these quotes or maybe I am picking the most desirable states but Austin Tx is 18/hr same for San Diego so I am not sure where I will be able to make similar amount. The most I was quoted was 30/hr for San Jose/Oakland. If anyone has any advice for a new potential travel nurse I would love it.
  3. I have a 3.3 GPA...I think you'll be ok
  4. Hey everyone. I just got into the alternate sequence program for this upcoming fall. I was wondering if anyone can tell me anything about the program or their experience. I am a little nervous coming from NY and not knowing what to expect especially with that high of a tuition. THANK YOU!!!!
  5. Hey all, I recently just got a conditional acceptance letter for the 2 year accelerated program at Fairleigh Dickinson (I too was missing Bioethics). Being new to this school I was wondering how this program was in terms of classes and instructors? and I am slightly nervous about the combination of FT work with nursing school..I work in Brooklyn as an EMT and although I could pull off a full time schedule in 2 days of the week, I am worried it may destroy my study time....any input is greatly appreciated...thank you!! Danielle
