I just got myself accepted in the ACE program for Spring 08! I am so excited! I'm an older student (50+) and so just a little anxious to be starting school all over again. I'm up here in Montco (near Lansdale). Anyone else up this way? Also for anyone who is in the program or getting ready to start, have you received a financial aid letter? Are they kidding? Do they realize that you will not be working for 11 months?! As I'm my only source of $$$, I'm hoping to look into some scholarships...we'll see. Anyway, I just wanted to spread the good word. Hopefully I'll get to meet some of you soon enough.:lol2:

CONGRATULATIONS on your acceptance, Geomar! I'll be starting the Ace Program this Fall and I'm starting to become a little anxious. I've been back in school for a year now, but I haven't done anything this intense ever. I have received my financial aid letter, and I wish they were kidding. Everytime I look at the letter, I find myself hoping the numbers would magically change. I, too, am my only source of income, but unfortunately the letter never changes. The numbers are always $12,900 (Offered Federal Loans) + $18,750 (Approximate Bill = Private Loans in my case) = $31,650 (Tuition & Fees). OUCH!!! I don't even want to know how much supplies and books are going to cost! Good luck in your scholarship search and again, congrats on your acceptance.

I just got my acceptance letter for Spring 08 in the mail today!!! I am so excited!!! I'm also worried about finances since I'm single and supporting myself but hoping that I can get a job afterwards with loan forgiveness.

I'm just so excited! I wish I knew what books we will need I want to get them and start looking stuff over! And I'm looking forward to getting to know the other people in our class!

Congrats on your acceptance! Have you finished all your pre-reqs yet? I will be finishing up this fall, so I think I'll have plenty of reading to do! Good luck and hope to be talking with you soon.

I too was just accepted into Ace for Spring 2008! I am on the other end of the age spectrum (I'll be 22 when I finish the program). I currently attend Penn State and will graduate with my first degree in the fall. I was one of those students who decided to get into nursing a little to late into my first degree...

Finances are quite troublesome me also. I find it most bothersome that they want the entire $32000 at the beginning of the program, and not broken up at the beginning of quarters. I wasn't offered any federal loans (since I'm still under 26 y/o and obligated to report my parental information and since my parent's actually saved for their retirement, FAFSA assumes that my parent's will just loan me the money so I won't need any loans, which is not the case whatsoever. I'm on my own financially) It looks like private loans for me. I need to look into scholarships and loan forgiveness too. :uhoh21:

Congrats on everyone's acceptance! Hopefully I will see some of you next spring!

Wow, I can't imagine having to using private loans to totally foot the bill! As it is, I'll have to do some private loans with a co-signer. Wish me luck as I try to hit up my family to help me! I'm glad to be meeting some Spring ACE'rs!
