PEDs ICU

I know this is kinda early, but I want to work in a pediatric ICU when I graduate. What steps can I be taking now to help that come to pass, and what can I do once I graduate, to step in that direction?

Become a CNA in a children's hospital, or at least, a volunteer.

Preferrably in the PICU

Yes, true. When I was a volunteer at our children's hospital, volunteers were not allowed in the PICU, and the positions in the NICU were coveted and almost impossible to get. So I was in the ED. :-) Which was also pretty awesome.

But yes, obviously PICU experience would be best!
