pediatric range calculation

Could someone please help me to understand this calculation

Doctor ordered 30mg PO every 6-8 hours PRN Infant way 6lbs The dosage range is 10 to 15 mg/kg/dose

Is dosage of 30mg dose a safe range? Yes

What amount of medication would you give (0.3mL)

I am having a problem understanding how this dosage to give was calculated. I understand how to do the dose range. However the final dosage I am not getting the same calculation.

Thank you for any help!

FIRST: Convert 6lbs to 2.73kg

SECOND: Divide 30mg by 4 for the PRN 6 hours (7.5mg), Divide 30mg by 3 for the PRN 8 hours (10mg)

THIRD: Multiply MG/KG = 7.5mg x 2.73kg = 20.475mg/kg and 10mg x 2.73kg = 27.3mg/kg

They are both under 30mg = Safe Dose

FOURTH: I'm not sure how to solve for the dose, because you don't have ML in the problem
