Hello everyone! I received an email about doing a video interview for a job in pediatrics. I've never done a video interview before, and I wondered if anyone knew what it would consist of or could offer any tips. Thanks!

In my experience it is as if you went into an office to interview, except if you frame it right, you can wear pajama pants instead of dress pants!

(I was interviewing out of state.) I wouldn't say any additional preparation is needed. I would recommend finding out the video software that it will be done with and doing a trial run so that you aren't late due to a technical error. (I had that happen during a video training at one of my part-time jobs once. Learned my lesson)

I had a video recorded interview. Wasn't a live person I was talking to. I recorded myself answering practice questions and when I watched them I looked stiff and tense. It felt weird to record myself. A few practice videos helped me a lot. I guess a face to face video interview would be more like a regular interview. Good luck!

Thank you! I actually did my video interview and didn't get a face to face interview for the nurse externship. With me being fresh out of nursing school, do you think I would be better off working about a year on an adult oncology/ med-surg floor before I attempt to reapply or just go ahead and reapply for other job offers outside of the externship that they push for students?
