don't know of any special mnemonic. you may want to create your own. there is a chart of the common communicable diseases in taber's cyclopedic medical dictionary somewhere close to the communicable diseases entry in the book. the immunization schedules are listed in the appendix of mosby's medical, nursing, & allied health dictionary, but i've also given you a link to an online resource in the merck manual. here are links to information on childhood communicable diseases with links to information about them. webmd has nice, easy to understand information and i've also given you a link to the section of the online merck manual on infectious disease. the children's hospital of philadelphia has a very nice listing of communicable diseases along with information about them. most of this information was obtained through medline plus (http://www.medlineplus.gov/).

i just made flashcards. put the name of the disease on 1 side, with all the info on the other, including, incubation period, when symptoms start to appear, etc etc. i found this to be the most helpful way considering there are so many in the pedi rotation. best of luck to you! :)
