PBSC Spring 2012 hopefuls

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everybody (well at least everyone that reads this :))

I just wanted to see if there's anyone out there looking to start this Spring?

For Nurismydream and others still trying to get an appointment for the HESI: Has anyone else been successful at getting an appointment? I have checked a few times and every single date and every single time slot are full. I guess if we can't get in to take the HESI we basically can't apply this year to PBSC? I am taking the HESI at FAU but I am guessing it can't be used for PBSC also as each school apparently tailors the HESI to their own specifications, correct? Anyone with insight, I'd appreciate it...

I registered for the test the first day it was online (Aug 15th). FAU HESI if i'm not mistaken does not have A&P and Chem, however you are allowed to take the test at another school/testing site as long as it has all the sections that PBSC requires. Keep in mind it may be more expensive. You can look for other testing site on the Elsevier website.

I was just wondering if anyone has gotten a response from the Nursing Office? The website says that the Spring 2012 application is now up, but when you click on it, it is still the Fall 2011 application. I emailed them asking them about this but havent gotten a response yet. Thanks =)

To be honest I'm not too concerned. I know they will have it by October 1st. If anything there probably updating that page slowly but surely. (and to think we're not even waiting to see if we're accepted or not LOL:D)

Hey guys,

Question regarding the ProCalc--I tried registering on the "hot link" they have listed on the PBSC website--I didn't enter a security code because none was specified to give by PBSC, but by leaving it blank it wouldn't let me register--said "invalid security code--please try again." Is there a security code I should know about?

The hotlink is for current students and the Procalc is required before the first day of classes (once you are in the program). Are you applying to other schools? I keep going back and forth but PBSC is the only school that I would like to attend.

Hello All,

I recently registered for this site but I wanted to help you guys shine some light on a lot of your questions since I just turned in my application.

I, like all of you were trying to register for the HESI earlier last month, all the test slots were taken at PBSC and I was heartbroken. I emailed one the Nursing advisor and asked if there was any chance spots open up, ie people dont show up etc, she informed me that they were suppose to be adding more slots soon (again this was in the middle of AUG.) So I checked that day and there was one spot left at the belle glade campus. So my recommendation if you didnt get a spot, check everyday and at all the campuses.

As far, as taking the exam else where, you can but PBSC requires 10 sections (BIo, Chem, MAth, Reading, Grammer, Vocab, AP, Reading comprehension, personality Traits and decision making) I think FAU only gives the cores (bio, math, etc) and not the personality traits.

I took the HESI exam earlier this week, I ended up with an 81.75 overall. The sections I didn't do to well on were AP and Chem (even though I took Chem this summer) Really study your AP and Bio. The math section had a lot of ratios and fractions, not too many word problems.

I took the pro calc yesterday, not bad. I missed 1 question but all you need to know is what is already outlined on the ProCalc "measurements and question types" link.

I handed in my application yesterday so well see what happens in Oct.

GOOD LUCK!!:yeah:

Just a heads up for those who are taking the test elsewhere - PBSC is requiring only 9 sections now. I confirmed this with one of the nursing advisors. Also just took the HESI and yup, there were only 9 sections. So don't panic, like I did, and cancel your testing center appointment because you think it won't count! $85 I'll never get back... :p

Good luck, all!

Hi all i am taking the HESI this coming week and was wondering if anyone remembered any specifics on the test for like the science portions that were definitely on the exam?? Also i am using the Evolve reach hesi study exam and if anyone used that did it help you with the exam with all of the information?? Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone!!!

I just took the Hesi scored an 85, STUDY CHEM!!!!!!!! its killed me all my other scores were in the upper 80's and 90's and chem brought me way down. Bio, and AP are challenging but not to much to worry about. Make sure you know your ratios and fractions for math, and understand basic grammar rules... Good luck to all in October :)

The Hesi guide is great for Grammar, Math, and Reading Comp.... AP, Bio, Chem you need to study your books from class. Chem is very challenging know the basics in and out. Good luck
