PBISN(Philip Beth Israel Nursing) Fall 2015

Published

Hello all prospective nurses!

I am curious to know if there is anyone who has applied to Beth Israel for the upcoming Fall 2015 start date. I have handed in my all materials to my application. I will be taking the NLN Soon. From past posts I know people sometimes wait until June to know if they are accepted or not. Hopefully we can get a good thread going here and can compare NLN scores and share any information that we hear from the school. Hope to hear from you1

@nurse178 congrats! It seems like you've got it in the bag already! I think they were just confirming that they wanted you during the interview. If you don't mind me asking how was your NLN score? 120s, 130s, 140s? And was the interview in the deans office or like a conference room?

@lovebug23 I'm sure it can't be that bad. Did you score over their "cutoff" score?

@Dmacnurse right at the cutoff:no: I'm sure they will go with students with much higher scores. In older post they said they look at the overall package, I have good grades, did a good essay, excellent recommendation letters. I don't know if that is good enough.

As long as your over the cutoff you're fine. They'll look at the complete package. Some people aren't good test takers and they know that, so even if you're not over the cutoff and everything else is good then I think you'll be just fine! Think positively!!!

Ok I'm thinking positive lord knows want this so bad thank you!!! Last year a lot of ppl said they had interviews already around this time.

Hey nurse178! Congratulations ! I'm sure you will get in. I had a question though, you.mentioned that they had asked you nursing student scenarios questions. Do you mean like how to handle issues during clinicals, can you expand a little on that?

@Love bug23, don't give up hope yet! Don't worry. By the way did you get your results in the mail or did you check via the website

I checked on the website

Thanks I hope so! I got a 93 on science/ 84 math / 78 verbal. I was mad at my verbal score as the NLN study books were way too easy compared to the actual NLN. Only studied for a week. :( The meeting was on the 4th floor in a small office room.

They just wanted to know how would you deal with certain types of emotions that could happen. ( Ex. How would you handle a worried nursing classmate or patient that think they're going to die. ) Then there were the standard questions like, "Why did you want to become a nurse. Why now?" etc...

@nurse178 that's great news sounds like you are in!!! But I think I'm going to get a rejection letter I did not do well on my NLN exam. I am really sad about that.

Don't give up until they say no! I've seen threads where the interview process has gone up until May/June! Some people actually have written themselves out of a rejection letter. It takes a certain kind of person to become a nurse and I believe that you have what it takes. :)

@Nurse178 I am staying positive..I totally agreed not everyone is cut out to be a nurse...I have been a medical assistant for a few years in pediatric..I am so ready for the next level...and thank you for encouraging words

Not yet. Have you called the admissions office for an update of your application?

I just did she said my application is currently being reviewed..:nailbiting:did you call?
