Paying for the Drexel ACE program

Published

I am going to be starting the ACE program in the fall and was wondering how current or past students have paid for the program?? Do they give out any financial aid or is it basically you just taking out a ton of private loans??

Thanks for your help!!

Bridget

I'm in the BSN co-op program at Drexel. They do give out financial aid but that all depends on your tax information just like any other FAFSA. I did have to take out a lot in private loans this year because I had to include my mother's information on my FAFSA. There's a lot of money out there for scholarships so I would definitely start doing some research now. I do know that not many people going to Drexel can pay for it without taking out a private loan.

I took a look at their program info one time and immediately decided not for me based on the cost. One would have to do some strategic planning to make this work.

They don't give out financial aid for the ACE program. We get federal loans and then have to make up the rest somehow. The Robert Wood Johnson scholarship wasn't offered this year. Sometimes UPHS offers a scholarship in exchange for a work commitment (we got info on it in October but apparently they aren't offering it anymore). Just about all of us have private loans.

Hey,

I'm starting the ACE program in the fall as well. I'm excited to hear that there are federal loans available. Do you know how much you can take out in federal loans? Any suggestions for the best private loan provider? If possible one that does not require a co-signer.

Thanks,

Chelsea

Because this is a 2nd degree program in my case I was only able to get about 12,000 in federal loans. However, PNC has a health professions 2nd degree loan program in which I was able to make up the difference with, plus I think for my PNC loan the interest rate is like 2.5%. I just graduated last September and found the program tough but doable, Good Luck!!
