What's the best way to find accurate pay scales by region, besides salary.com or any of the other generic websites. I am due for contract renegotiations.

The absolute best way imo is to talk to colleagues or other NPs in your area to find out what they are making.
Thank you for the input. I wish I could do that! Unfortunately, I am dealing with a bunch of MBAs and the CEO directly, so I need to go in there a little better equipped with a regional comparative analysis or something more concrete.
Ok but in my experience dealing with MBAs and a CEO when I said XYZ hospital was paying their NPs $123 they verified and matched it. Again just my experience but that is more relevant than than googling salary.com. Best wishes with your negotiations.

Agree with Jules on this one - talk to some colleagues and get their salary...

I found one of the best ways is going to the BLS.gov website. You can hover over the cities on the graphic "Employment of Nurse Practitioners, by area, May 2015" and it will show you the annual mean wages for nurse practitioner for that area. I have found the information very useful for myself. Here is the link:
Nurse Practitioners
I hope that helps!

Definitely more reputable then the .coms and might be helpful depending on someone's current rate but per this site my geographic area my base salary is $77,000 a year more than the mean reported. This list would be detrimental for me in negotiations.

I would go a different route.
Have you billed for more services this year than last year, or seen more patients? If so, calculate the difference and ask for a proportionate raise. MBA type people will understand any demands made in the context of value-created. If you are an earner for the business, they will pay you more money.
