Hi,
Interviewed with a nurse manager last week, really liked her. She offered me the travel position & was going to contact my recruiter. I have not talked with my hiring agency yet, they are calling me tomorrow with contract, salary, housing, insurance. What is a good salary for the Bay area for a psychiatric nurse travel position? I see and have been offered such a range of amts from $30.00/hr to 41.00. Have no idea what is reasonable. I am new to travel and am grateful to get this job to prove myself and get travel experience under my belt. What pay rate do you think is fair? Thank you.

Depends on what your agency is paying for...location of apartment, etc., utilities,.......

I'm guessing here, but I assume you interviewed with the John George Psychiatric Pavilion in Oakland/San Leandro. They have recently switched to 8 hour shifts so as not to pay OT... That has changed things a lot... Lots of Psychiatric nurses migrating south...
Thanks for your post. I now have about a month working in this travel position. Where are nurses migrating south? Southern California? You are correct that JGPP only does 8 hr shifts. I will be heading to S. Calif. in July.
