Generally speaking, nursing pay rates in Florida tend to be 15 to 20 percent lower than the national average. There is a saying to partially explain the phenomenon: "Welcome to Florida, where you are paid in sunshine."Thanks for your response. Long term care or private duty would be preferred. That's where I have the most experience. I have looked at the salary ranges and they do seem a bit low.
Thus, people willingly live and work for low pay in Florida in exchange for the desirable weather and the chance to reside in a state that is an international vacation destination.

We are considering a move to For Myers/ Lehigh or somewhere in that Florida Location. Does anyone know the salary range for an Lpn with 15+ years experience?
