Specializes in Med/Surg, Tele, Peds, LDRP.

Dont quote me on this, but I had clinicals at FH during my RN program and was told by other nurses that they start from 20-21/hr.

I've heard they are doing away with techs and going to primary care nursing. There are also some floors that do team nursing. Not sure about the pay though.

Since the poster is not from the US, there are many other factors that are involved with their rate of pay. Also depends if you are going direct hire, or thru an agency.

And with the retrogression in place, it may be some time before anyone gets to the US, and rates will surely change by then.

from what i know..base pay starts around $21/hr..that's for newly grad nurses.

I have worked at Florida Hospital for 3 years with a BSN and I only earn $23.00 per hour.:crying2:. And Yes, the techs were all let go and it is now called Primary Nursing. You can plan on being a tech now and NOT a nurse. Your day is 90% changing diapers, changing bed linens, giving bed baths, filling up water pitchers and YES even emptying the trash and linen bins in all your patient's rooms at the end of your shift.

Yes, we have picked up the PCT job description as well as respiratory therapist lol! Without the corresponding pay increase! Times evidentally are tough at the Florida Hospital Health System! Nurses are not appreciated. My unit is overworked, overwhelmed and understaffted. Underpayed goes without saying. I guess now that there are so many nurses without jobs they are really in the drivers seat. The worst part is that it is unsafe for patients. I feel for them.

Specializes in ED.

I was in the ED at FH-orlando dropping off patient and saw many techs. Is it the floors that lost techs
