I saw on the dcc.edu and CSN websites that the May and June PAX-RN exam dates had been cancelled. I called the Delgado Testing and Assessment Center and they have no additional information. Admissions at CSN said they didn't know if they would still be giving the exam, but wouldn't specify if it would no longer be required, a different exam would be required, or if one would need to take the exam at an open testing center. (Closest open testing center, according to the NLN website, is in Pensacola.) Has anyone heard the reason for the cancellations. I planned to apply to Charity in August of this year. Anyone else besides me freaking out over this? Any info that anyone has heard would be greatly appreciated.
This was posted to the Delgado website this evening:

Yeah, I saw the same thing. I was scheduled to take my Pax this Saturday, May 12th. You can believe the shock when I saw the red banner running across the DCC website regarding cancellation just two days ago. I don't understand and it has me wondering whether or not I should go on and submit my nursing applicaiton without my pax results so at least they know my interest. I've already paid my 60 dollars to take the test. I had it set to take the test, get the results, and mail everything...nursing application and pax results all together to be considered for the Fall 08 class. I sure hope this doesn't put me further than a year's waiting list. If you or anyone reading this finds out more info. please post! I'm a bit disappointed that things would change all of a sudden like this. :uhoh21:
Best wishes for A&P 1, Smartferret! I just finished that class and the lab this Spring. It wasn't too bad. I'm scheduled to take A&P 11 and lab this Fall, along with Math 118, and Fine Arts. All I'll have left for Spring 09 is Micro with lab, and Math 120.......Hoooray! I plan to take other classes while waiting to get into nursing school that will transfer into a BS. This summer I'm taking Human Pathogens which should interesting and Sociology which does transfer for a BS. Good Luck! If I hear of anything of anything new regarding the tests, I'll keep you posted.
CSN has posted additional information on their website.
