Pax Exam

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Published

When practicing for the pax exam I know that there is an updated edition to the nln study guide. Does it matter that you get the second editon instead of the third edition? (Since the store did not have the third edition that is)

Well, first off let me begin to say I took the PAX-RN for Galen College of Nursing around the middle of December 2011 and I failed it. I recieved an 82 and I needed a 96. Studying a lot is essential. Anyways, I don't think it would matter all that much because the information will basically be the same so I don't think it is too important if you get the second edition instead of the third. Good luck on the PAX! I hope you pass! (=

I would definitely get the most updated version. Where are you located? If you are in Tampa area you can borrow or buy mine for cheap? I studied with it for two weeks before the test and focused mainly on math and english. I scored a 132. Be prepared to be on a time crunch when you go into the test. Also, always answer a question even if you have no clue what the answer is as unlike the SAT you don't lose points for answering a question wrong.

I'm taking mine 2/24, you didn't study for scie ce and things like that? I have to get a composite score of 100, I do have the third edition study guide, but I'm so afraid of not passing- any ideas or pointers??

I reviewed Science but the Science section is SO broad that there truly is no prepping for it. There is some Physics on it but only one or two questions. A lot of people say to study Physics but there really isn't enough to warrant studying Physics in my opinion. To be honest, a lot of it is common sense. Most of the questions you can narrow it down to two possible answers. Just don't stress yourself out studying. I studied two weeks beforehand and did fine! Also, I thought the practice questions were harder than the actual test so as long as you do all the practice exams and review your mistakes you should be alright. Remember to pace yourself, too!
