would love to know more about that. Sounds like re-using syringes is a practice there, or it would not have happened so often. Not enough details to judge the situation, but in a town that size this must be devastating.

Arterial line? could be anything, newspaper jurnalists can be really bad when it comes to medical terms. I saw recently where a journalist mixed up Typhoid with Dengue in an article saying that Dengue had a vaccine. JEEZ!

I learned about a fistula created just for this purpose in school and yes it is used for hemodialysis.
