I take Pharmacology in a few weeks but I took Patho in the spring. I found is challenging but not to bad. I actually really liked the class it felt the most like "Nursing classes" out of all my Pre Reqs. If you know how the body works properly really well then it shouldn't be a problem. Make sure you know your A and P really well and what a good working body needs.
Patho for me was much harder than pharm. Pharm was a lot of memorization and straight recall so if you spent the time doing the work you were rewarded. However patho is not that way. You have to understand the concepts to pass, so the amount of time you spend studying and preparing may not necessarily correspond to the reward. I suggest checking in at your nursing school to see if tutoring services are offered (or any other assistance) that you could use if you feel that your patho class is getting out of control. Sometimes even just group study put the concepts into perspective for me - you can sometimes hear something differently one time and then it clicks, even if you have been studying the same thing for three days!
Hope this helps,
Amber N.
Is patho all about A&P like you need to know the functions in and out in order to do well in class or does the teacher do a review of A&P and then get into patho and what its all about?
A&P was a Pre Req for Patho at my school so the teacher did not do any reviews he expected you to know it.

Just curious on people's opinions on these 2 courses. I got pharmacology out of the way over summer...it was extremely challenging. I start nursing school in a few weeks and I'm hoping someone can calm my nerves and tell me that pathophysiology will not be as bad as pharmacology.
THANKS
