So you want to kick this RN NCLEX?
i thought about what seemed to be the most reasonable and helpful aid for me.
I tried a new NCLEX study program (no names). It was horrible. I had to report some of the answers as being wrong to the study program people. Yikes!!! No good.
I thought about the K----- study program but WHOA it seemed like a lot of $ and a lot of time for them to teach me what I already knew. I came across UWORLD and loved the direction they took, not to mention it was really cheap. I studied it intensely for 15 days before my test and knocked it outside of the park. One attempt, pass!!!
Here's why it worked for me.
I already knew my stuff. Hello, years of grueling classes and study. I didn't need to be re-taught. What I needed was a drill like program to get my mind razor sharp and ready to handle ANY question.
Most of my question on NCLEX were putting in order of importance. A couple of easy math and some basic drug questions.
Of course I came across some questions that were very basic but most seemed like "3 people are dieing and who do you see first type questions. What??? How do you answer that??? ABC's that's how. So my NCLEX study plan was 2 weeks long, pretty much all I could stomach, and I passed with a short number of questions. I have read where some people study for months. Ok. I could never do that. UWorld gave me just what I needed and I don't think you need to spend too much time to prepare. Good luck fellow RN's.

I agree UWORLD is the best. Kaplan is not thorough enough in my eyes. UWORLD is very thorough with rationales. I like how it shows the percentage of people who have gotten each option right and wrong.
