Passed Transitions Exam!

I only used the SG101 notes however this resulted in a lonely B, which Is better than a fail I suppose. Many people on here are content with a C and that is okay but you need to remember grades will play a role if you plan on moving up past a BSN. Im unsure of any excelsior grads that completed CRNA school but I know many have done an MSN and even FNP. Anyways getting back to the exam....... The exam was tougher than originally thought, the material was extremely dry which made it hard to study. I assumed most of the questions would be common sense as this is what transitions felt like to me, However I was not entirely right. While many of the questions could be worked out with simple logic there was a lot of what would an RN do type questions. These questions are difficult to answer because there sometimes appears to be more than one correct answer and more often than not there is but you must choose the "more" correct answer. There is also quite a few of Select all that apply questions which can be difficult because if any of them are incorrect then you lose the whole point. The practice exams were helpful because it clarified what I should work on. Don't spend too much time remembering dates, people, laws, and organizations. Just remember Who they were and what they did/do. Review ethics and types of negligence like it's going out of style. If all else fails go with the safest/nicest answer this seems to work some of the time and usually gives better odds than if you were to guess. Good Luck and ill answer any questions as long as it doesn't violate EC Policies

Congrats! First one I took also. Studied SG101 and did both practice tests. Spent only two weeks on it. Made a B also. The health safety one was a little difficult. Made a C on that one after three weeks of studying even though my raw score was higher than my raw score on transitions. Got to love the scoring system!

Hi did the practice questions from study group 101 help with the exam? I'm planning on taking this exam in a few weeks. How long did you take to prepare for this exam?

I barely studied for this exam and used only the SG101 and practice exam A. Ended up with a B. Not tooting my horn, I just didn't think it was that hard. A lot of common sense I thought, if you have critical thinking skills and are familiar with law, history, and organizational hierarchies.
