Congrats! First one I took also. Studied SG101 and did both practice tests. Spent only two weeks on it. Made a B also. The health safety one was a little difficult. Made a C on that one after three weeks of studying even though my raw score was higher than my raw score on transitions. Got to love the scoring system!

Congrats on being accepted. Depending on how your schedule is and your experiences keep in mind that you can do Micro and Sociology at your local Community College. Please excuse the caps for a second MAKE SURE YOU GET APPROVAL FROM YOUR ADVISOR IN A WRITTEN FORMAT. Okay off my soap box. I screwed myself over by taking an anatomy course that did not meet excelsiors requirements (I did not ask for approval first). The Info lit course will most likely have to be done through excelsior. Also there may be a CLEP for sociology. Im not familiar. The biggest tip I can give you though is to keep close communication with your advisor. They are there to help you. Ive been enrolled for around 4 months and have nothing but positive things to say except for my own screw up. Good luck!

Its not the easiest exam to tell you the truth. Review the content guide and the percentages that each topic covers. I mostly got tripped up on the forces that influenced nursing care. If I could do it again I would of spent some extra time in that area defiantly.

As many have said before, it is not easy but it is not impossible. I can not speak of the entire program but I am actively chipping away at it. If you do the exams, they supply content guides and that is what you will be tested on. You can do the courses but they are not cheap (if you take so many courses you wont have to pay certain fees). I am an instructor at a community college who pioneer hybrid education for EMS courses. From my experiences teaching the courses, doing excelsior and taking other online courses I will say that it depends on you in the end. If you are good at learning at your own pace and setting firm benchmarks, you should do fine. If you feel you need someone over your shoulder to make sure you stay on task I would recommend possibly doing the course option, the nursing theory conferences or maybe a B&M school. -Marcus

Young Mom, I paid for my exam on the 5th of October and was told by my advisor "[COLOR=#000000]Since you have registered for the exam, you should use the old content guide to prepare. The new content guide is for students who register for the NURX*108 exam on or after October 14".[/COLOR] [COLOR=#000000]You probably should shoot your advisor a message just in case. I did compare the old and new content guides for a few exams and they look extremely similar to each other to the point where I cant find a change. In regards to studying, I used SG101 and both practice exams from excelsior. Paid for the test on the 5th, received the SG101 on the 7th, tested on the 20th and made a "B". -Marcus [/COLOR]
