Passed NCLEX- Used UWORLD

Published

Hey All! I just wanted to post up the specifics of my passing NCLEX- I know I loved to obsess and compare notes so if you're like me, here is one to add to your reading!

I graduated December 16, 2016 and immediately began studying. I used the EAQ from my Med-Surg book (required by my school), and then purchased a one month subscription to U-World a week later. I received my ATT on December 30, 2016. I averaged 100-150 questions a day, and a 63% on the exams. I marked every questions that I got wrong, or didn't feel like I knew a lot of. I took tests that consisted solely of these right before I took the NCLEX on January 5, 2017.

The night before the NCLEX I rented a hotel room so I was in the area, knew where I was going, etc. I was scheduled for 2pm, and sat in the parking lot at about 1:30 and did a very frantic, panicked last phone call to my husband, and a even more frantic review of lab values, I was so sure I would mix something up.

I took the test in 25 minutes, and got exactly 75 questions. I was so focused on not focusing on the amount of time I was taking that I didn't know how much time had passed until the TA was checking me out. When she told me the time I felt like vomiting on the spot, because I had no idea how I could of possibly read every question thoroughly (though I am historically a fast reader and quick test taker). I felt like I had completely blacked out through the middle third of the test and had no idea what happened.

When I left, I attempted the PVT and it gave me a message that stated "The candidate currently has test results that are on hold. A new registration cannot be created at this time." Of course I googled the heck out of this, and the best that I can surmise is that I took the test too quickly and was flagged for review. However, today, almost exactly 48 hours later (and a weekend!) I was able to pay for my quick results, and received my pass!!!

I am so, so excited. I had three interviews this week and I am ecstatic to be able to tell them that I passed the NCLEX. I cannot recommend UWORLD enough-I found the questions to be more difficult then what I personally got on the NCLEX, and the set up is EXACTLY like the NCLEX. It really made me feel comfortable, and is 100% worth it. I passed my subscription along to my friend as I had only used 1000 questions of the 2500 test bank, and had nearly three weeks left in the subscription.

Good luck to everyone, I hope my specifics relieve some stress!
