Passed the NCLEX at 75 questions (2nd attempt)

Published

Today I found out that I passed the NCLEX! I passed at 75 questions and I had 12 SATA (no calculations, pictures, or audio). This was my 2nd attempt after failing the NCLEX at 147 questions back in December.

I used UWorld for 5-6 months and did 20-40 questions daily. I read the entire NCLEX-RN Made Incredibly Easy book and select chapters from Saunders 5th edition(Leadership/Delegation/Management). I also used the free website registerednursern.com since it provides great lecture videos and lots of quizzes. Overall I would read for 2 hours and do practice questions for 2 hours each day.

One important advice to anybody taking the NCLEX: Take your time! Try not to pay attention to the time. Meditate on each question and select your answer carefully. I did the 75 questions in 2 hours and 40 minutes. Don't rush!

Read! Do practice questions! Use UWorld!!!

Best of luck to everybody taking the NCLEX.

Did you get alot of pharm questions?

Definitely not. I didn't study that in-depth either.

Congratulations and excellent advice. One of the biggest mistakes to make is starting study too late. With Uworld it isn't just about the questions, but each rationale is also a learning topic. I also used Uworld and played a bit with registerednursern.com. The only one I spent money on (besides a ripoff called allnursingnotes.com that provided NOTHING and was a scam) was Uworld. Those free practice questions on registerednursern.com are also great.

As to pharm, I did have a feq questions, but on the most basic of things such as iron making your poop black and lactulose treats constipation. For example, the lactulose question asked 'what would you question before giving lactulose?' and the correct answer was that the 'client states he has diarrhea.'
