The Pearson Vue Trick worked. I got my official results in the mail today. I can't believe it. I just want to thank everyone for your posts and words of encouragement.
I studied using Lippincott flash cards to get me in the mood while tackling Saunders comprehensive daily. Next, I completed Mosby's NCLEX-PN questions to isolate my weaknesses. The last couple of days before my test, I focused on Saunders comprehensive CD.
Delegation, patient safety, and prioritization seemed to be the overall theme of my test. When in doubt, use critical thinking and following the ABC's to answer the question. For example:
Airway, Breathing, Circulation
Maslow's hierarchy of needs
Nursing process - Assess, Diagnose, Planning, Implementation, Evaluation
Assessment - Head to Toe
When in Doubt, choose the answer that:
...has the correct value when the others do not
...has the incorrect value when the other do not
...has what is needed to keep the patient safe
Lastly, I kept reminding myself not to read into the question. I trusted that the test writer included all of the data I needed in order to answer the test, and that let me immediately exclude two answers.
I hope this information helps anyone planning on taking the NCLEX-PN.
