Passed my nclex pn one year after graduation

Nursing Students NCLEX

I graduated May of 2014 from the Lvn program. I was pregnant half of the program and had a one year old when I graduated. I took my 1st nclex in aug. And failed with 85 questions. I decided to take a break and raise my son. And just back on it in a few months. I decided to get the hurst review. I listened to the lectures 3-4 times and filled out all the papers. I made flash cards for all the important drugs that hurst provided on the resource pages and the precautions as well. I paid 30 dollars for the nclex mastery app and did every question and quiz on there. I did free kaplen question trainers 1-5 and did at least 150-200+ questions a day on all kinds of topics for three months. Increased it to 200+ for the last three weeks. I scored a 79/125 95/125 88/125 on my hurst qreview tests which I did two days apart a week before my exam. It include the topics I needed to work on so I did Saunders questions on just those topics like (psychosocial integrity and comfort care) I felt Saunders was to easy tho! I prayed every night the week before the test. I only studied for an hour the day before the test (labs, meds, Spider-Man) i took my nclex may 15th 2015. It stopped at 85. I got 30+ SATA 5 exhibits, 1 math, one ekg strip, lots of meds! It was hard but easy. Meaning I knew most of the diseases it asked about and the roots of the meds. I waited 24 hours after the test to do the pvt and I got the good pop up. I am so excited still waiting for official results in a few weeks because I don't get quick results in Cali. But I am behond happy. It was a cake walk once I reallt put my mind to studying.

Hi i am also in the waiting game. Took my nclex-pn last May 6... and still waiting for my official result in the mail. I also got the good pop up and continues to get it... but still without the official result there is no assurance...

Congratulations!

These type endings (year later) really inspire me that I can do it! It didn't come free though cause you put the work in.

Thanks for sharing!

Lol....that 30+ sata though! Whew

Yea It came down to me passing it this Time or going back to waiting tables, because I couldn't afford to be home anymore. I gave it all I could in the car listening to lectures, or answering question after question in the passenger seat. Waking up answering questions, which I feel like Is most important. Take two 100 question tests a day through out the day little by little then make a good chunk of time to go over rational. Then when I put my son to sleep I would listen to lectures till my eyes couldn't stay open. It was rough. But so worh it.
