Hi everyone, I am a foreign nurse who took the nclex exam 2 yrs ago. I was so happy and relieved that I passed. Now I don't have a social security yet, so I cannot get my nursing license. What I want to know is how long will the results of the nclex remain valid until I get a SSN, or do I have to take the nclex-rn exam over again if and when I get SSN? Can anyone answer this?

Depends on the state where you want to get a license. In my state, if you don't get it together with what they want, your file is disposed of after three years. And, BTW, :ancong!:
What state would you be from?
A caliotter is from California.
Thanks for the info. So after 3 yrs, a person would have to take nclex again if they don't have all necessary documents? Wow, to go thru that again is torture to the highest degree.
I really don't know about the NCLEX part of it, believe it must be repeated, but I know you would have to do the application over again and pay the fees. It does not make sense that the NCLEX would have to be repeated, but it would not surprise me because there would be more money changing hands. The more times you pay the fees, the happier they are to get your money.
You are right! Thanks again.
