New member as of 10 min ago told myself when I PASSED my RN NCLEX I would get on here and share my thoughts. I graduated nursing school in 2012 from then until now I have taken boards a total of 5 times. I found out about UWorld from allnurses and decided to give it a try since personally I didn't have any luck with Kaplan, Saunders, and ATI. Uworld has very detailed rationales and questions were challenging by far the best tool I used to prep. I had 75 questions on boards (PASSED) and finished Uworld with a 51%. WOOHOO
What I really wanted to voice my opinion about is through this struggle I often visited this site for encouragement reading stories from others that were in the same boat. Some succeeded and others just refused to give up but what really made me upset is seeing the bashing that other nurses were telling them because they were repeat test takers. How nursing is not for them and they need to just give up. Well I am here to say NEVER GIVE UP if nursing is something you were called to do and you made it through nursing school that speaks volumes. Not everyone has the same struggles BUT you embrace that and not be condescending. At the end of the day were all in the same profession medical we chose this to help people so to bash others is completely a 180 and still blows my mind some of the things I read.
To those who stood up and were supportive thank you! Personally my spirits were low and I was completely embarrassed that I could not pass this test and reading those kind words really helped me. To all of you still trying to pass....you can do it!!! Put in the work and pray you were led up to this point for a reason! Oh and I 100% recommend UWORLD!
