Pasadena City College spring 2017

Hello everyone, what are your overall points based on the new points system? teas, GPA?

I only applied to PCC

How was the orientation? Is there a lot of stuff to do for program? I really hope I get in for the spring 2017 cohort í ½í¹í ¼í¿¼

I haven't heard anything from GCC.. has anyone else?

Also recieved acceptance for weekend / evenings program at Gcc. I was pretty set on Pcc since I am familiar with school and less than 5 mins away but the dual Rn-BSN program at Glendale is making me reconsider. Does anyone have any thoughts on the two programs? I really don't know anyone who has gone through either program. Trying to think of pros and cons for each program. Also I would encouraging reading the student handbook for the nursing programs I found them to be helpful when looking into requirements. There is a good bit to get done for the pcc program. Several items to purchase and health clearance/ physical that requires blood to be drawn and everything.

This is a hard one. If you want the BSN right away, go with GCC. More and more hospitals are not hiring new grads with associate degrees.

All programs require the health clearance. It has to do with the clinical facilities and their rules.

Choose the school that's best suited for you. Most hospitals nowadays want the BSN and it's better to get it now than later. Good luck in choosing a school! I wish I was in your shoes

Hi! nope, what was your teas score? I really want to get into GCC! btw, I made a thread on GCC 2017.

Hi Evie, if you don't mind me asking, what did you get for your teas and stats? Also is this your first time applying to GCC? I really want to get into GCC but I'm afraid I won't because of my prereqs. Thank you.

Well, I was a first time apply to both programs. My GPA was a 3.2 for both cumm and prerequisite. I scored an 86% on teas. I also had health field experience including an emt cert I think that helped for my points. From my understanding as long as you qualify for Gcc they pick their class from a lottery pool. That's a lot of luck involved. Good luck to all of you. Keep trying and keep improving your self as an applicant. I've been working on finding my path for the last two years. Thank you for the encouragement

Did any other alternates hear back from PCC? I am giving up hope of getting in this semester
