I think I would go far the guaranteed spot. I heard both were good. Many peers want PCC which makes me feel like it's a good program. Good luck

Yeah I've already told GCC I'm going and that's the plan unless I get another email from PCC, then I'll have to really decide what to do. I kinda doubt I am gonna get one, 78 seems kinda low compared to some other alternates so really glad I got into GCC.

Hi Everyone,

I got an email from PCC today (Nov 20th, 2019) at 11 AM stating I was accepted to the program. I am so excited. I was selected as an alternate for LACC earlier this month. For PCC, my application had 80 points. I'd be happy to answer any questions about my application if anyone has any. Good luck to everyone!

Congrats! Happy to say, See you at Orientation!

I think I will make definite choice if I get into PCC. I'm leaning toward GCC. They honestly seem better equipped? I live in San Gabriel though so I'm not a fan of that commute ?

So hard to decide. I feel like they would both be good programs but it’s hard to know which is better. PCC is definitely closer to me but I get the overall feeling that GCC might be a little better. Does anyone else have any thoughts on it? I already accepted GCC but with the shorter drive I’m tempted to accept PCC. Honestly, I never though I would be in the position of having a choice. I feel very blessed and hope that everyone else in here gets an acceptance.

Hello guys, I also accepted to the program. I hope I meet everyone on campus! Did you Re-send ATI score to school? I already sent official during application period. I also asked them though emails, but I was wondering if anybody are in same situation or know something about it.

I had the same question regarding the ATI results. I was told they are able to pull the results if you had submitted them before during this application period or a previous one. I called this morning and they confirmed that they did. I would call just to be on the safe side. Good luck and see you in orientation.

Maybe if PCCs orientation isn't too late, attend both and then decide? I think having that info will help with making a decision.

I have a friend that went through the PCC program. He said it is more independent and more self directed than other programs. That is probably the reason why some people hate it. It also uses ATI software which some people don't like. But overall he said it is a really good program which has a very high NCLEX pass rate. I am excited that I got in and plan on going there for sure as it is close. I live in San Gabriel so it is ALOT closer too.

I can't speak for GCC (didn't apply for it) but even if I got in, I don't think I would go because it is so much further and I really enjoy convenience. They also have a high pass rate though so I'm sure the program is good. Hope that helps!

I also emailed yesterday asking the same thing regarding TEAS results and they responded today that they already have the results I sent through ATI during the time of application so I'm good.

Thank you, that helps tremendously. I live in Monrovia and with classes being at the Foothill location the drive is 10-15 minutes at most for me. I have seen a number of lists online that claim to rank the ADN programs, and most of them have GCC ranked higher than PCC. The problem with those is I believe they rely heavily on past NCLEX pass rate to rank the schools and don’t take into account factors such as program content, faculty support, facilities, job placement assistance and available resources. From about 2014-16 PCC had much lower pass rates than GCC, most likely accounting for the rankings.

Hi all,

I got accepted as an alternate too. Do you know what are our chances of getting in?

Congratulations to everyone who was accepted! I graduated from this program not too long ago, and would be happy to answer any questions.

Tried to message you but for some reason the website won’t let me. What is your overall impression of the program? Any specific advice you have? Thoughts on the professors?
