Pasadena City College Fall 2017

U.S.A. California

Published

I was wondering if anyone applied there. I also applied to:

CSUEB

Los Angeles Pierce

Los Angeles Valley (once their apps open on April 11th maybe)

LA county Allied health

COC (I really doubt I get in because I did 2 attempts on the teas)

Glendale Community college

STATS:

OVERALL SCIENCE GPA (3.33)

OVERALL GPA (3.56)

TEAS VI: 72.7%

I know it's early, but I want an early start. I just need to get into a nursing program before my pre-req expire :/ My best bet so far for me is Allied health, GCC, Pasadena, and maybe Pierce

Any waitlisters get accepted? I would appreciate it if someone can report back how many no shows there are during the orientation and how many waitlisted applicants there are.

I haven't. I don't plan on going to Pasadena if they contact me neither.

why not? isnt it a good school?

I believe that PCC is a great school itself, but the RN program is very disorganized according to the few people I spoke with. For example, you will have to buy things you'll never use, take ATI competency tests for every course which you study for by yourself on your own time, and bias when it comes to grading assignments. These were some of the things I heard about the program. So I guess good community college =/= good RN program.

which schools have good RN programs then? I hear about disorganization from every RN program

Hey Guys,

so, I also have received an email stating that I am an "alternative" even though I believe I had close to 90, points. :( I did fincally got a hold of PCC. They told me that there are alot of people of an Alternative list and it is very compatative. She also told me that I could reaply for the next semester and they do require TEAS 6 with a 62 % or higher as a passing score regardless if you have a BS degree or not.

Bakersfield College and CSU Bakersfield are good. I wish I could have gone there but I already moved out of Bakersfield. I have never really heard of complaints about disorganization from those two. I did attend a sister college to BC and it was totally disorganized. I did take an IV therapy course at BC and was impressed by the teacher as well as the lab assistant. They know their stuff and not once was I ever instructed to "Google It as PCC has done so many times.

Anyone move off the waitlist? It's awfully quiet here.

I didn't hear anything from PCC and at this point I already lost both hope and trust in their selection process. I did move trom alternate student status to Fall'17 student list at GCC. I am very happy about it. Good luck to you.

I think u should be in the safe range; the average acceptance points are 77-82 I read it in the information session; I'm 85-88 but I'm still nervous ; every year is a different situation depends on the the other applicants

Hey guys, just to update you: I graduated 2 months ago and as of today they have not sent our transcripts to the BRN. Many of us have missed the deadline for starting our new grad programs because of the negligence of this school that is PCC. The nursing director is on vacation on Europe and supposedly they're short staffed. Looks like I won't be licensed until October at this point...many other students who graduated around the same time from other schools have already taken and passed NCLEX.

Also, a large number of my classmates received letters from Brn saying their application was received but not processed due to lack of nursing school transcripts. This will extend the application processing by 4 weeks, per the BRN. On top of that it takes about 3-4 weeks after you get your ATT to schedule a test date. And another 2-4 weeks to get your license. I'm very frustrated with this school!

I don't know. I bridged from lvn so that process wasn't offered to me. And I know nothing about applying to that program.. you should seek a counselor. They have 1 nursing counselor at PCC. PM me and I'll send the info.
