Hey Everyone! Just thought I'd make a thread for PCC's Fall 2023 ADN applicants. This is my first time applying and applications open up the week of April 1 - April 15. I have also applied to other schools like College of the Canyons, Pierce College, Glendale College, Antelope Valley College, Butte College. I wish everyone the best of luck!

It's frustrating that it's taking a long time, but also we really have 0 control of the matter and there is no guarantee that other schools will be Timely since stuff like this is just out of our hands. PCC has really great professors and a great reputation as well, and that's a big thing to take into consideration. Also, every student has different experiences and we really don't know what's going on behind the scenes. If they send in class info later than usual, I think it's fair to say that you also should have some leeway in taking your time to get ready too. We still have more than a month till classes begin. Don't stress what's out of your control!
I know they made it complicated for sure. But I believe the program will be good as their reputation. PCC has connection with APU which is great because you can get your BSN at the time when you graduate PCC. It is definitely time efficient. Pcc offers collaborative program with CSULA, and also CSUN ( I remember there were more school listed) which I think it's good opportunity.
as a PCC graduate, I love PCC but I can definitely tell you that according to the orientation before applying one of the decision-making persons was definitely a professor there and a counselor as well. The Nursing department is separated from PCC so there might be some differences but overall I think it's a great school. It's just really unprofessional to make potential nursing students wait this long and not fully be prepared and not have their stuff together. Also PCC isn't the only school that offers APU and Other universities BSN opportunities , so does GCC.

I haven't received the welcome packet yet.
I finally decided definitively on PCC. THANK YOU everyone for your insight and help throughout the process of deciding.
I accepted that I'll have to be proactive to get the information I need to get a head start on things. I hope we can work together via the dscrd I shared on the facebook group to fill in those gaps.
Someone on the dscrd mentioned they went to the PCC health center to start the titer/health clearance process already and that the PCC health center is familiar with the requirements. That seems like an awesome idea.
I'll reshare the facebook group here https://fb.me/g/p_qwqn1rqQEFaj5rqo/sMKD0NSN
in the welcome packet emails they sent out, they gave us a list of textbooks that we need but IDK if we need an access code for them. Does anyone know any current students that can let us know?
the rentals are much cheaper, but unfortunately don't come with codes and I'd like to know before I buy them.

1) They don't care if you retake prereqs, just use latest grade.
2) They won't accept TEAS 6 after July. They don't have limits for retaking the TEAS.
3) Average admitted general ADN program students had 85 points.
oh so if I retake my TEAS the 2nd time in the same year then its OK?
Hi!
For those who have gone through the program, can you please give me some insight on the clinical schedule?
Specifically, I'd love to know:
-What's the typical structure of the clinical schedule? (Days, hours per week, etc.)
-How early (or late) do students usually receive their schedule for the semester?
Any info would be super helpful! Thanks in advance!
