education initiativeworkforce shortages are among the most pressing issues facing most hospitals and health systems today. that is why hap's board of directors endorsed hap and its member hospitals' and health systems' participation as the presenting sponsor in the pennsylvania higher education foundation's (phef) nursing education initiative. the nursing education initiative's aim is to increase the number of well-educated, qualified nurses in pennsylvania by providing grants to pennsylvania nursing education programs to assist in expanding and enhancing the educational capacity to meet our growing demand for nurses. as presenting sponsor, we will collectively contribute $1 million a year toward the three-year effort.
