Partnered Hospitals (UTA/TCC)

Published

Hi guys! I have a few questions for all of your working at a partnered hospital.

I plan on applying to the traditional BSN program at UTA for Spring 2015, (TCC as back up) but I want to try and get partnered before I apply! I have no healthcare experience, although I am my mother's primary caregiver (I know that doesn't really count but hey! It's a tough job! :p) what positions could I apply for in the area? And where could I go to?

Any tips or comments would be greatly appreciated! Thank y'all!!

Really any hospital that is a partner would work. Most will take any position in the hospital as far as I know. What about a PCT, Unit Secretary, or patient transport? You may need a short class to be a PCT though. I work for THR and they have a PCT program but are no longer a partner anymore, which I was working on :( Anyway, hopefully you can find something because I have heard it is really hard to get in without working for a partnership hospital if you don't have a 4.0.

I was thinking about taking the CNA class to better my chances of getting a job at any partner hospital but money is a big issue for me right now. I'm probably just going to take my luck at a unit secretary position and see if anything comes up.

Man I could've sworn THR was a partner! That's such a bummer!

They were up until last Spring unfortunately. Definitely a bummer because I was working on it. Good luck!

I worked at Parkland when I was accepted to UTA for the APBSN program; it is a partnered hospital. Taking the majority of your pre-reqs at UTA will also give you an advantage....they say it doesn't matter, but it will help you as they go through their ranking process. I had a FT salaried position at Parkland, but they have patient care tech positions....

If you're doing the Traditional in-seat program, being partnered doesn't play a factor. It only helps for getting in to the online program...
