Depends on your area, specialty, the shift, whether you are salary or 1099.

Hi Jules,
Is it common that most clinics do not offer benefits (ex. PTO, sick time, CME, etc.)? I have been interviewed in 3 clinics already that do not offer benefits for part-time NPs. I wonder if I should keep looking?
Thank you!

Possibly not at clinics although you could possibly negotiate to get them if you need them. I keep one part-time job with benefits but it has always been at a hospital where that is more the norm. I pay more for the health benefits because I'm part-time and the PTO is adjusted also. Since I don't get benefits at clinic jobs I make more per hour or per encounter.
Thank you!!!
Therefore.... Negotiate for a higher pay per hour OR be willing to accept a "justified" lower pay with benefits.

Again being able to say "XYZ clinic is paying $123 per hour for their FNPs" is invaluable. They will check so don't bluff but definitely network to find some leverage that will help you with negotiations.
