Hello.
I have applied for the ICU internship program at parkland hospital and I was wondering if anyone has recently gone through/is currently in the program and could give some feedback.
Thanks

I have two friends who are RNs that went through the ICU residency at Parkland. It is very competitive and they have a ton of applicants. I would recommend trying to contact a nurse manager of the specific ICU you want to work in. Parkland has 4 ICUs.
Thanks MrsRn for your response and advice. I actually applied to the Critical Care and Trauma nurse internship. I think its different from the residency program but I could be wrong. I think I will contact a unit manager to find out more info...

I am going in for an interview next week for Parkland's ICU. I was wondering if you could help me out and let me know how the interview went. What kinds of questions did they ask you? How long did it last? Do you have any suggestions? I am a little nervous! I have been preparing all week. Also, did you get the job?
Thanks, I look forward to your response.

I would say that 1/4 of the people that do the parkland icu internship go on to be crna and they usually do not stay at parkland long.

Does anyone have a copy of the article about the internship? I have not been able to find it. I have a question for those who have been called for an interview. Have you had any previous experience of any kind? What makes one applicant stand out more than others? I still have three semesters of school, but I want to be on the right track. Thanks!

I doubt anyone who has interviewed is going to be willing to give their competition a leg up by posting details about the interview online. Just be prepared for the interview as you would any other job interview, put your best foot forward, dress appropriately, etc. Best of luck.

I'm new so I don't know how to bump this thread, but I was wondering if anyone had any contact information for ICU internship. I applied also, am actually on hold with the Nurse Recruitment department and have yet to hear anything about the internship...and haven't received any denials...weird
