Forum for the Parkland Health July 2024 Nurse Residency cohort!

Yes ma'am! Sooooo many new grads quit and they keep quitting. You see when you graduate you really don't know what you're getting yourself into. I wish I didn't sign a contract. It's really a reason why they make you sign a contract. The turnover is high. Honestly, it wasn't the patient population... it was management and the nurse residency. They don't really support you. And the bullying by other nurses is bad. To all my L&D, NiCU nurses, it is not worth it to sign a 3 year contract. Them nurses are extremely mean and clickish. Two of my coworkers broke their contract. Most people won't get on here and be honest. But I'm telling yall, signing a contract is really not worth it.

Wow. Thanks so much for letting us know.. I hope you find a program that better supports you!

Thank you! I'm applying to other hospitals and hopefully will be better than what I experienced. I'm not hear trying to be negative whatsoever. I just wish somebody would've advocated and spoke up for the new grads.
Good luck in your journey love!

Do you know if they give offers that same day? I've heard of other hospitals giving offers on the career fair day
I sadly live out of state so I won't be at the mixer ? but I am not sure on that I was wondering the same thing! Good luck at it! Let us know how it goes!
