Parkland 2016 GN residency

Published

Does anybody know when their applications go up?

How sure are you abt that? So if I sign with one unit, there is no penalty for transferring to another after a year?

I was told it was penalty for leaving Parkland all together. Not for transferring within the hospital

The commitment and 3 years doesn't start until actual paperwork is signed correct? Not just a verbal agreement.

Not until paperwork is signed. However, the 3 years doesn't actually begin until after completion of the residency program.

I don't know about penalties for transferring units, but if you transfer from one unit to another, you're most likely going to have to complete another residency program. Unless it's from, say, SICU to MICU or something.

Are they still doing the interview for 2016 Summer internship? or is this already closed? I have applied number of resident program but didn't receive any interview invite except just received the standard email acknowledge saying its fwd to the hiring manager.

HR sucks at parkland. You have to bug the recruiter for any information and they might lose your application. My friend works in the NNICU and I believe they are still hiring. But they are very very picky. Hundreds of ppl apply.

Well, I'm going into the Neuro ICU and I believe a lot of the residency overlaps. Either way, I really wouldn't mind doing a residency again, just that it would be allowed if I wasn't a fit for that unit. Have any of you guys signed anything yet? And I'm talking specifically abt the residency, not the internship which is different contract bc the time spent in internship counts towards the three years.

I feel like that would be a question for HR or the unit where you got an offer. Granted, you probably don't want to ask them, "Hey, can I go somewhere else if I don't like it here?". HR should know though, right? Unless you've already reached out to them. I'm sure the units have different rules, though. Have you not accepted the Neuro ICU offer yet? I haven't received any paperwork yet, but I gave L&D a verbal/written acceptance of my offer. The HR lady told me they wouldn't send out paperwork until June-ish, closer to the start date of the residency.

Does anyone know if they have new grad benefits like paying back student loans or NCLEX costs? Also- after verbal acceptance of an offer can you withdraw your acceptance without penalty, like before signing paperwork?

I still have interviews elsewhere to go to...

Yes I accepted the offer bc I didn't want to lose it. And you are right, that is the reason I haven't reached to HR. I'm in just a real bind bc I also accepted another offer and I'm really trying to chose and don't want to burn any bridges

Does anyone have received information on what is the The Standard Uniform of Scrubs for the ER Nurse Residents?

Does anyone know what it means when the job status on your profile says, "Offer in Progress"
