Parkland - Dallas - Student PCA position

Nursing Students Technicians

Published

Can anyone offer any advice/experience on the student PCA positions at Parkland? I am half way through my ADN program and was offered a position.

I am still waiting on my offer letter and am getting excited as orientation starts Dec 16.

Thanks in advance.

DO IT! I started at Parkland as a student PCA after my first semester of nursing school and it was definitely one of the best decisions I've ever made. Even though you're just a PCA you will see and learn SO much! Most of the units are pretty flexible with nursing students regarding scheduling (at least on my floor) and I've never had a problem getting the shifts I've requested (like never ever). And if you are interested in working there as an RN after you graduate, this is definitely your best ticket in. What unit were you offered a position on?

I will be on 8 East Rehab. I am so relieved to get your response and feedback. I would love to work there as an RN upon graduation. I haven't received much info and am getting so excited. Do you find out about scrubs at orientation? Everything is a little crazy with the holiday.

Thanks again.

Hey can you inbox me the website that you use to pass the Hesi entrance test. I take it on the 17th. I am really nervous about taking this test.
