Parkland Critical Care and Trauma Internship 2013

U.S.A. Texas

Published

I put my application in today. Does anyone have some insight into how many people apply and how many spots are available? I know it's very competitive :( ......what a dream opportunity though, it can't hurt to at least try

I was accepted too!!! I totally cried on the phone with the recruiter, it was great... :')

Here's to our lives changing... and to the start of a class of AMAZING critical care and trauma nurses!!

Are we going to need to do much before we start? I don't want to get there and have forgotten everything from school, or be behind on the first day. I imagine we'll hit the ground running.

When did you graduate from nursing school? And where are you coming from?

I applied for the Nurse Residency-ER on 4/25. I noticed this position is for new graduate RNs and RNs who already work. Is this the same program you all applied for?? I hope I met the deadline (crossing my fingers) When are classes expected to start??

Specializes in Telemetry.

no, the critical care and trauma internship is an 8 month program where you rotate through all the ICU's at parkland. it's separate from the regular residencies.

congrats, we'll be coworkers! i wouldn't be surprised if we need to get our ACLS beforehand. other than that, i'm not sure! where did you go to nursing school?

thanks for the info:)

I don't think we need to get our ACLs before hand, I am pretty sure she said we learn that during. Are any of you locals that would know a good area to look for an apartment at?

Barbara said they will send us her critical care book this summer so we can review it.

Oh and how is everyone studying for NCLEX?

Specializes in ICU, hospice.

Do the Hurst review. She is AWESOME! Do the online class so you can see her do the lecture. She is hilarious!

I graduated from Lewis-Clark State in Idaho, and I'm from north Idaho.. you? :)

Where are the rest of you from? Kind of curious to see if we have a lot of variety here. Idaho is very cool! I'm from the Texas Panhandle close to Amarillo (if any of you know where that is) I go to West Texas A&M.
