How do you do it?

Specializes in aged care.

I've been there as well.

i know the pain, the sleepless nights, the "brain going gaga", the three day headaches.

Just to show you that i've been through it, i completed a whole Anatomy and Physiology

course within 10 weeks, that is given to med students in the first year to be completed over two semesters

in nearly 10 months of study.

i am nursing student.

it is their way of saying, are you tough enough punk....well are ya?

It is worth it! believe. i just completed it three days ago, and i am one helluva tough bastard atm,....

seriously nothing fazes me, i could stare death in the face.

the whole process was very revealing, illuminating and leads to depths of self-discovery.

often i had memory flashbacks as i was studying (freaky), but the beautiful thing was that the learning

was clearing all my painful embarrarsinbg thoughts.

i now feel much more powerful psychologically, more assertive, however also more reponsible, being

very careful not to spin any bs, as it is just a waste of time, and frankly not befitting a person

studying such a character building course and profession such as health care NURSING.

the way i did, was.....

1)i set aside a lot of time to it. i studied daily minimum of 10 hours.

yes, i did skim through a lot of info, but you will find that often the textbook contains checkpoint questions

to check if you read this stuff (with answers at the back...;),

2) i completed the checkpoint questions, often quickly and check the answers at the back (mostly for

familiarisation of the terms).

3) VERY IMPORTANT!! i touch types each chapter summary, the provide me with general thought structure, it's great that way that summaries simply things!

4) I meditated before sleep (after most sessions) to chill my brain out).

5) i drank heavily...heheh.....water!

6) i tried herbal remedies such as Bacopa Complex, took daily 100ml of omega 3 fish oils ( great for the brain).

7) i took a break on every hour mostly, for about 10-15 mins.

8) i took hour long meal breaks. (3 times a day bfast, lunch, dinner)

9) i used audio learning tools that were availalble, and listened to them on my walk breaks on every hour.

10) before study i checked out my goals, to find out why i was punishing myself so. and repeated this

process briefly when in doubt.

11) i limited negative ppl distubing me, and most disturbances for that matter. quite important.

congratulations for being many ppl's hero, a lot of ppl look up to you, now that you have set up your comment.

You are an inspiration to many, and many ppl will take your example when undertaking your course.

Lastly.....

LIFE IS NOT A SPRINT, ITS A MARATHON,

AND

FAILURE IS A FAR GREATER TEACHER THAN SUCCESS....put simply you win either way!
