Paediatric teaching Learning

Published

Hi,

Please, can someone help explain to me how I can go about with this assignment, I am a new nursing student and bit confuse.

We are asked to make up a scenario in regards of life activities, involving a child of choice , aged 3 to 12.

We are to use the Nursing process, identify a teaching learning need for the child. Involve one possible problem which may interfere with the teaching learning activities.

I have made up my scenario but don't know ho to move on with the rest.

I will really appreciate if someone would help explain better to me.

Thank you.

Consider the developmental level of the child. That is a HUGE part of peds. There is a big difference between a 3 year old and a 12 year old. How will the developmental level of the child effect your teaching/learning plans?

Which age did you choose?

There are varying developmental levels and interests from 3-12.

Hi,

I chose a 12 year old child.

Hi,

I chose a 12 year old child with low self esteem.

In my scenario I did not sate what the child has, just signs and symptoms in the child's behavior. Then my diagnoses will be (Chronic Low Self-Esteem).

And we are asked to identify a ''teaching learning'' for the child.

Involve one possible problem which may interfere with the teaching learning activity.

Thank you for the early reply, so grateful.

Is this activity directed towards one child or towards a group/class of children of this age?

Also, just my opinion, but I think you are creating more work for yourself by picking such a vague topic. You can easily teach a 12 year old something more concrete about sex or peer pressure/drugs/smoking/alcohol.
