PACU LPN?

Specialties PACU

Hey! I have an opportunity to accept a LPN position on a PACU floor. Wondering if any LPNs have some insight on what type of work I would be doing, pros and cons. Thanks!!

Specializes in Med/Surg/.

First I would say to go to the powers that be and let her give you a detail job description. I see you are getting various answers here. It varies a lot from State to State. More so from hospital to hospital. As an LVN the Nurse practice act stays vague and leaves most of what we can do up to the hospital. There are very few specifics entrenched in it...It has change the most in the last 5-7 yrs here in Texas. I've always done pushes then I go to somewhere like Arizona and can't do any. I worked Oncology/ICU/CCU for yrs. One of the best ICU nurses was an LVN for 15 yrs. But that's the way it was for many years. Texas is much more liberal than most. So get it from the horses mouth not us. If it takes away too many of your skills it just might not be the job you want......
