Check with your company to see what is included in your apartment. If it doesn't include a vacuum and microwave, you'll need to bring those. Other things I bring:
Sheets/bedding (pack these in a "space bag" to save car space)
Towels
Clothes
Dishes
Silverware & cooking utensils
Laptop Computer
GPS
Camera
Cell Phone
Flat Screen TV & DVD player

basically stuff you think you can not live without. Depends on where you are going too. I sure wish I had brought boots out here, since it snowed again today. but essentially just whatever you think you must have.

:twocents:You can never bring too much but you can always leave something at "home" that you really want. It usually won't be something that you need. If you need it you go out and buy it, then you have it on the road and at home too. I've said it before and still say it again. I love to travel but I hate to pack and unpack. This assignment in the RV has been great, only wish it was mine, cause I will have to unpack it when I finish the assignment. It's not for everyone though. Worked an assignment with a guy who brought a spoon, fork, knife, plate, coffee cup and glass. Would stop somewhere on the way home and pick up takeout, put on his plate and eat with his utensils???? He also had just one duffel bag for clothes. He worked OR so the work clothes were not an issue. Had a girlfriend who would bring up different clothes every-so-often. Take all that you can fit and if it doesn't fit, there is always UPS, USPS or hire a mover.:chuckle

Shower curtain if you're in an apartment.

I rent stuff from goodwill...in other words, I buy it there when I get there, and then donate it back before I leave. This is for bigger things like vacuum cleaners, etc... I call it Goodwill hunting.
thanks to everyone who responded! I knew I'd get ideas I never would have thought of.....especially the shower curtian! Also, I will be bringing one of my dogs.

My fiance and I travel and she makes me pack everything but the kitchen sink. We just bought a cargo trailer after renting uhauls for the last two years. The moving seems like a job in itself sometimes...
