Pace University BSN/MA- Westchester, Spring 2010

Published

Hello all!

Has anyone applied to Pace University's combined degree program in Westchester for this coming Spring? I just applied and I am anxiously awaiting my acceptance or rejection notice. I haven't taken the GRE yet (will do in August).

If anyone feels comfortable sharing their GRE scores or GPA, and whether or not they were accepted, I would be really appreciative.

Also, maybe if I get accepted, we could start getting to know each other before the semester starts.

Good luck to all!

Hi everyone,

I took the Miller Analogies Test and did better than I expected to (460). I think I should be able to get into the Pace CDP for January 2010 and will let everyone know if this turns out to be right. If I get in I'll have to figure out how to pay for it...LOL

Has anybody been to an orientation group? Any thoughts? Where do Pleasantville students do their clinicals?

If you're reading this thread, let the rest of us know your latest developments and thoughts.

Hi Mark,

My application is now complete, since I took the GRE today, and I hope to hear from Pace soon.

I got a 630 Quantitative and 660 Analytical. My undergrad GPA is 3.84 and my pre-req GPA is a 4.0 (still have Chem and Micro this Fall).

Good luck, and keep us all posted!!!!!

Stacy

Stacy,

Congrats on your GRE scores. STRONG!

Keep us posted.

Mark

Got my application off today--the wait is ON!

Good luck everyone, it looks like i'm going to have to wait, I'm trying to find a place that will allow me to take Micro during the winter break ;-(

Hi. I just put all my application stuff in the mail today, Aug 11. I had an appointment with a lady in Pleasantville and she said they begin evaluating applications in the beginning of September and, if your file is complete, should only take a few weeks. But it sounds like you'll still need your GRE scores, right?

I had great grades in undergrad, actually graduated Summa cum Laude (from Pace, no less)..., but my GRE's were not good. Only got a 980 total, but I"m taking them again in August. How about you?

... and I noticed a few people reference "minimum GRE" and "minimum GPA"... the reality is that there is no minimum... There are scores they like to see and use as a guide for people who ask. They even said to apply if you don't have that "minimum" 3.0 undergraduate GPA. They also publish that you need C's in the prerequisites and the reality is that they really want B's. I took A&P I and II over the summer and got C+'s in both, but had virtually A's in every other class I ever took, graduated with a 3.9 undergrad. So, we will see!

Hi Stacy- I just applied today, Aug 11, and I've got my fingers crossed, too! When they receive my app in a few days they should have everything they need with the exception of one letter of recommendation, which they should have in about a week. Also I have to take the GRE's again because I really tanked!

Maybe we'll both get in and we can get to know each other!

Let me know when you hear something and I'll do the same, ok?

I will definitely be letting everyone know what's up as soon as I hear.

I'm SOOO glad the GRE is done with (for me), so now I just have to hope for the best.

Good luck to everyone!!!!

I spoke with someone at Pace today and they said decisions will some in September or October.

I hate the wait!

oh, really? That is exactly what I heard. I met with a lady there and she said they begin reviewing applications the first week in September and send letters out immediately from then.

Did they say anything about the number of applications they've been getting in?

I'm so nervous about my NASTY GRE scores it isn't funny. So many people talk about their scores on this site and everybody says their scores are in the high 600's. Honestly I think people are lying. The reality is that I don't know if I've heard of too many people not getting in there... have you?

I got my undergrad at Pace and walked on water when I went there. President of National Honor Society, Highest GPA in BBA Marketing Major..., blah blah blah. And a Pace prof wrote one of my recommendations. I'm hoping that will carry some weight and my GRE's carry NONE! ... and the fact that I got C+'s in A&P I and II also carry NONE! :nurse:

But I dunno!

Keep me posted and I'll do the same.
