Hi everyone!
I am part of the Fall 2024 cohort and cant wait to meet those of you who will be my classmates! Anyone know anything about buying textbooks and course material? Should I buy before the class starts or wait?
Also, do any past students on this convo know which classes the books are really necessary and which I can skip? (Bugging our from the prices😵)
Thanks!!

Anyone who has gone through the third semester would you by any chance share the professors you had for the semester? I'm currently in my third and I'm not sure how to study for the exams/ professors
Per the Terms of Service, members may not publicly share names or identifiers (Initials, etc) of program instructors or other nurses. Thank you for your understanding.
Hi Kiki! Can I ask you some questions about the program?
What days are classes/clinicals? I know it's 4 days, 2 day class 2 day clinicals, but is it Monday-Thursday?
How soon after acceptance did you find out your clinical site? Does it change throughout the year? Or at are you at the same hospital the whole time?
Thanks in Advance!
hi ave910
First semester classes were twice a week and one clinical day/sim. They will add an additional clinical day ( it may be term 1; early semesters,2; mid semester,3; later semester).
second semester classes were twice a week. Clinical can either be three or two days. Depends on what they give you. Medsurg clinical is the entire semester while peds/ maternity are 5 weeks. Again they can switch off or you may have them at the same time.
third semester you have a preceptorship that is 120 hrs, with two additional clinical that switch off. Overall, two days lectures (or three depending on your elective choice) and two days clinical ( preceptor days can vary depending on your preceptor or your schedule)
*the hospital you are place in may change
*you are notified of the placement before the semester begins
* actual day of clinical may vary, some had a Saturday clinical.

No problem. I think Pace has a higher NCLEX passing rate. So if you think you could handle 11 months then I would go with Pace. But if you think a slower track is better then Saint Vincent.
